About MayClay

"EACH PIECE I CREATE IS PART OF A PERSONAL JOURNEY THAT EMPOWERS EXPRESSION & BRINGS ME JOY."

One May a few years ago, the world that I knew was turned upside down and grief that I had never felt before came over me. It was a really difficult month of my life and a month that has changed me forever.
Out of this pain came an idea - to join a ceramics class - a type of clay therapy. Each piece I created in that class helped me heal, empowered a personal expression that I never had before and transformed the way I showed up in the world.
Making with clay has been my journey from grief to joy and it is now my passion and purpose to share that joy with others through artful hand-crafted pieces.
When I create I do so with intention and love, when I create I'm devoted to every unique piece. I'm inspired by nature and the beauty in our natural world and I want my work to be a celebration of my love for the raw, organic materials I work with. These pieces are my creative expression and an exploration of the therapeutic nature of ceramics. A labour of love from my hands to your home.
This is Mayclay.

MayClay has just launched a bespoke range of interior wall lights which you can view the collection here. Every unique ceramic light is handcrafted with intention and love. Individually made to order in Hannah's home ceramic studio, this project was a collaborative effort between Hannah, MayClay, and husband Greg, a commercial electrician and owner of Grid Electrical Contractors. This means the highest standards have been maintained throughout the process of designing, custom building and testing these hand-crafted wall lights and pendant lights. This unique and rustic approach to lighting design translates into a timeless architectural piece celebrating its subtle raw materials.

If you're after vases, large artful bowls or her much loved pinch bowl sets then please follow Hannah on instagram @mayclay_ceramics to stay up to date with artful clay pieces available for purchase.
